"If Putin won't promote homosexuality, we will"
When Russia passed a law making it a crime to ‘promote’ homosexuality, legitimising homophobic attacks and making life miserable for Russian LGBT people, Homopromo was set up to raise money for Stonewall to help these people.
For the first Homopromo auction in London in 2014 I was really happy to design a poster and help organise the event. It was an open invitation to creative people around the world to design posters protesting against anti-gay laws. Soon we were launching the next Homopromo campaign. I created a comprehensive new identity for future fundraisers, including logo, concept, posters, web graphics, social media stories and goodies/signage for events.

The campaign typeface is Omnes, in the slightly condensed design. The logo is a customised version of Omnes, with sharper corners and dots replacing Os. The weight and size of the characters has been determined by the equidistant spacing of the dots; this took a while to get right, to ensure the ‘pr’ didn’t look squashed while the other spacing is wider, and also to ensure legibility at smaller sizes.
